As some of you can tell, Malia and I have become completely obsessed with a Bollywood movie "Like Stars on Earth". I don't usually recommend movies but this one doesn't have anything objectionable (although some may object to its length and the musical numbers - but hey, it's Bollywood!)
What does this have to do with the J Project? Well, the movie and more importantly a wonderful curry dinner at a the Kumar's house has inspired me to start the "Easy Curries" chapter of Food Revolution. My first endeavor was Chicken Korma and well, on the heels of Zina Kumar's amazing meal, it was fair - good. I started with the one I thought the kids would most likely eat - made slightly sweet and creamy with coconut milk. Yeah, well. At least Joel and I liked it. I added, as sort of a garnish to the top of the plated curry, toasted coconut and toasted slivered almonds and was surprised how much it added to the dish! I love it when I experiment and it works out.
