Rainy Day Tea Party.....by Jessica
What else is there to do on a stay at home with a sick kid rainy day but have a tea party! Belinda didn't mind the little girl's sniffles and came over for a quick lunch. We had Fennel and Blood Orange Salad (very delicious) then played a tea party game. The game doesn't make much sense but the directions say it helps hone up the decision making skills (oh fiddle dee dee, what kind of tea sandwich should I have?).
and p.s. I really love arugula, it's my new favorite salad green.

Fennel and Blood Orange Salad
2 fennel bulbs, thinly sliced
2 blood oranges, peeled and sliced
3.5 oz. arugula leaves
2 smoked chicken breasts, sliced
2 Tbs. blood orange juice
2 Tbs. olive oil
sea salt and cracked black pepper
1 Tbs. red wine vinegar
Combine the fennel, blood oranges, rocket and chicken and place on serving plates. Combine the juice, oil, salt, pepper and vinegar, pour over the salad and serve.
Kit will attest to the fact that I have had a long running love affair with Arugula. If we go out to dinner I will always order the meal with arugula in it!!!!...Juli
