Blackberry Spice Cake & Asparagus Risotto...by Juli

These recipes were pretty good although the risotto came out really salty. I knew it was too salty when Kit said it was a little much and he threw the remainder away...Oh well...stirring and stirring for nothing. Thanks to our friendly neighbors (Shone and Charity and Rowan) we got two fresh eggs from a local farmer on our street. I am not sure if it enhanced the cake...but it didn't hurt! Despite the cake being made from (mostly) whole wheat it was really good! I added the icing for a little extra sweetness and we ate it hot out of the oven. A keeper for sure!
