Ian came across a book all about experiments at the library. This book is filled with all sorts of "easy home experiments" but unfortunately the supply list for most of the experiments would have some random thing that we didn't have. Finally he found one where we had all the necessary items.

Here's the instructions if you have some little scientist's in your house.

Underwater Volcano!

Find a large glass canister, and a smaller glass bottle. Tie a string in a loop around the small bottle.


Fill the large canister with cold water and the small bottle with hot water.
Put red dye in the small bottle.

Slowly lower the small bottle into the large canister.

Enjoy the underwater volcano!

Ours was not as a.m.a.z.i.n.g as it could have been, I think maybe the cold/hot ration wasn't enough or possibly our canister wasn't tall enough. Anyhow, it made the kids happy and that's what counts.
