2012.....by Juli

Thank you all for your great suggestions for next years project! I loved the suggestions of using more coupons and I think I might need Malia's help for that. Could we end up on Extreme Couponing?!? Its a stretch but well worth a try! Also the recipe swap is an excellent idea because I know weekly cooking becomes so routine and boring, "Whats for dinner?" "Chicken, rice and a vegetable" wah wah..... Of course we will stay on course with our thrifting lifestyle, but I think for me I sometimes I get a little obsessed with that. Its like a treasure hunt that never ever ends. Once I find what I am searching for then I just move onto something else. If I don't get myself under control I am going to end up on another TV show...Hoarders.

So do you really want to know what we have up our sleeves for 2012?!?!?

30 before 30 bucket list!

I am turning the big 3-0 next year and I thought it would be fun to have 30 things I want to do before I am 30. Jessica and Justine agreed on the idea and since they feel like they are just turning 30, they will do 30 too. We will each have our own list, with a possiblity of similar ideas, but tailored to our individual lives and families. Wanna see my list?!?!

ok here goes:

1. Sew a dress
2. Take a class
3. Get a facial
4. Apply for a job I don’t think I am qualified for
5. Make a roast beef dinner
6. Host a crafting party
7. Make a lampshade with mom
8. Test drive a mini cooper
9. Run a race
10. Go to a movie alone {Gulp}
11. Try acupuncture
12. Get a massage
13. Read a book {confessions...I don't like to read}
14. Do a photography day trip
15. Buy a vintage typewriter
16. Go to an ugly sweater party
17. Make a short film featuring Kit with a mustache
18. Enter a writing contest
19. Submit Lola’s picture to the PD
20. Enter a recipe to sunset magazine
21. Watch Gone with the Wind
22. Go to a concert
23. Have a camp out
24. Hike part of the pacific rim trail
25. Get fit
26. Grow my hair out
27. Learn and memorize greetings in different languages
28. Have a picnic
29. See the mavericks surf competition
30. Successfully drive a stick shift

I am really excited about my list and hope that you all can help me with it! I will share with you my journey through my list and hope you enjoy the ride! I will let Justine and Jessica share their lists and I hope you are ready for an awesome next year!!!

P.S - Want to join in the project? Email us your list!

I love your list...great idea. I turned 30 this last year and practically had a mental breakdown!...but I also accomplished things I wanted to before turning, and now...I love 30!!! It's an awesome age that I am embracing :)

well i'm turning 32 this next year!!! and never thought of doing any kind of list! that's a great idea. if you want some company, i (probably tiyara too) would gladly train with you for a race. the human race is in may & then the petaluma footrace is in april (i think) both very easy races you would like.....and i can't believe that you have only had one massage!

Wow Julie. Can't believe that you r turning 30. I remember when you were born. Was it really that long ago? Only one message? No acupucture? You are a sonoma county girl hard to believe. I think your list is doable. Have fun.

Weird, I just bought a vintage typewriter at an estate sale. I might be willing to part with it only because it wasn't the aqua color I was looking for :)it's just plain creamy white but it's still awesome! plus the person I share space with said "why did you buy that? what are you gonna do with it? where are you gonna put it?" haha yep the exact questions I was expecting when he saw it in the trunk.

Where are Jessica and Justine's lists? I still have four more items to think of before I can submit my list. This is hard!

Yes the BIG 30 is coming up for quite a few of us! I turn 30 in April. I'll think about the bucket list, my number 1 - Have a baby! and since my birth day is April 15th and due date is March 22nd I should have no trouble :)
Are you gonna try and get all that done before your birthday or just by the end of the year? When is your birthdate? Have you gotten a facial before?

Juli~ ok glad you've had at least one! I will send you my bucket list soon, I started working on it tonight! But i'm only turning 29 this year so I might just have to do 29:)
Jess B~ I heard you were having a baby! Congrats! I'm so excited for you and Eric!

@ Jessica Boudreau - My birthday is December 1st, so I will have most of the year to finish my list, but if it doesnt get done before then I am sure its ok for me to stretch it one more month.
