Green Pea and Mint Soup....by Jessica

Peas used to be my least favorite vegetable. One of my earliest memories (I was younger than Anya because we were not at the house that my parents are in now and we moved there when I was 4ish, right mom & dad?) was a time at dinner when I dropped all my peas on the floor. Mom and Dad had a big discussion about what they thought my punishment should be. Dad said he thought we should pick them all up and make me eat them, Mom said no because she hadn't mopped the floor in a while and the floor was dirty. I got sent to bed right after dinner. Does anyone else remember this?

Anyhow, green pea and mint soup sounds weird, Doesn't it??? It's good though. Sort of reminds me of cream of asparagus soup.
It was a good end of the month recipe that I made on Sunday.

3 cups frozen green peas
2 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
6 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup single or pouring cream
1 Tbs. chopped mint
sea salt and cracked black pepper
PEPPER SOUR CREAM
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp. roughly cracked black pepper
Place the peas, potatoes and stock in a saucepan over medium high eat and bring to a boil. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Roughly blend the soup until almost smooth and return to the saucepan over medium heat. Add the cream, mint, salt and pepper and heat until hot. To make the pepper sour cream, combine the sour cream and pepper. To serve, ladle the soup into bowls and top with the pepper sour cream.

That's encouraging that it was edible since I have a similar recipe I haven't done yet. I seem to remember a pea incident except one where one of us hid peas all along the underside of the plate. Worked great til we went to clear the table.
