Boy
Hi Girl Tween
Okay, enough already. No need to convince you more of my strangeness. Back to original reason for post.
For quite a while now, I've wanted to make my own sourdough starter. I don't know what my hold-up was, but I finally got my first batch brewing on my countertop. I thought for sure that sourdough starter would look and feel like a girl, especially in the glass mason jars that always have been a girl to me...but guess what? Sourdough starter is definitely Mr. Sourdough Starter. And he's sitting on the counter bubbling away and developing nicely.
The recipe says I need to feed him (daily?) or else he will die. Who else would have food as their chosen pet?

You finally got a pet!!! Can Lola come over and play with HIM? I am sure they are both stinky, sticky, growing and may need to be eaten if things get rough. Just kidding, we could never eat our Lola bear. But I may have to breed some of my own sourdough and then they can have little bun babies together :)
I also love that the male peacock is considered a girl. We will just call it metro.
Peacock - I know! why are the boys the pretty ones and look like girls! I'll share some of my starter with you when it finally does it's thing :-)
Hahaha! You two are HILARIOUS! I totally know what you mean Jessica. I keep referring to our new chicks (which I know are females) as "he". I can't explain it. But I guess it's not a that much of a stretch - it makes sense that any messy little critters who think the whole world is one giant toilet are males...right? ;)
I still need to come visit those chicks Marcella! p.s. Did Justine give you the chocolate? I also put a shirt in there that I thought you might like.
Jessica- I know! you've got to bring the kids over! We just got 2 new ones today. The brand new ones are the most fun because they're just so darn fuzzy and they love to fall asleep in your hand! :)
Ooooh...a shirt too?! Yaaaay! I'll see Justine today, so she's probably going to bring them. ;) Thanks so much!
You crack me up! Yes, your gender classification is strange but that's the beauty of blogs. You get to see the workings of anothers thought process. Very entertaining I must say.
