Barbie has Overtaken....by Jessica

I don't know how many years it took to accumulate the 6,000 itty bitty Barbie pieces that Anya has inherited (over 25 for sure) . I was searching for Barbie sushi pieces, for peet's sake. Sushi pieces, people...do you know how small they are when we buy them as humans???!!! Now imagine Barbie size sushi.

When I saw the pile of Barbie stuff dumped on Anya's bedroom floor, my heart started racing and I almost hyperventilated. The picture below represents about 20% of the actual Barbie loot. I'm not kidding or exaggerating.

And they are all tiny bitty pieces...

I spent tonight matching up Barbie shoes and sorting the clothes - Barbie, Ken and the little sister, whatever her name is. I guess there is a little little sister too because there were some tiny clothes that I couldn't figure out who they belonged to. I started organizing the clothes by season, but realized I needed to stop the insanity.

Do I have permission to toss the shoes that don't match? How about some of those Barbie brushes? Does Barbie need 54 combs and brushes?

For all of you needing a boost on the spring cleaning, take my advice and just dive in. It feels so good when it's done and all sorted out. Your kids might not like it - Anya's comment was, "sooo what does this mean, I don't get to change my Barbie into any new clothes?" but I think to have 10 outfits versus 65 outfits will be just as much fun, right? Okay, maybe not...but then at least your mom won't have a heart attack when she enters your room.

Yes, those are plastic bags. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

That's funny! I love the matching up seasons of Barbie clothes :) Keep in mind Barbie stuff is HOT on ebay so if you do ditch anything try to ebay it first! We had a drawer in my parents roll top desk designated for those tiny things that get lost game pieces barbie shoes etc. :) Keep up the good spring cleaning!

And I should have said BORROWED...because those Barbie's are going back for Phoebe as soon as she is sick of Ponies. And thank you Justine, Anya is having a blast, it's just her mom that's a freak.

I KNOW I KNOW! I'm sorry I meant to pare it down before sending it over to you cause I KNEW you'd be overwhelmed. But I never could quite get around to it!

Have fun. Bwahhhhaaaaa.....

I'm kind of thinking of sorting it by activity. You know, swim stuff, snow stuff, food, etc. Is it a futile project though? Will it just get jumbled again in a few days???

Ha! You're funny. I'm pretty sure all the little stuff (Kelly is the youngest sister's name by the way ;) was mine before it moved on to Malia and Phoebe's collection. So I'm sorry too. But the upside is that it might be old enough to sell as "vintage"? ;)

Yes... *cringe* ....Can we still be friends? ;)

P.S. We made your broccoli salad recipe the other day! Ever since I read that post about Juli's broccoli I have been craving it. It is so good! (And I got 2 kinds of broccoli plants today! More salad on the horizon!)

Broccoli salad, Yum!!! Hey, how are the chickens???

They're HUGE!!! I can't believe how much they've grown and they still have a long way to go. Looking forward to permanently moving them out of the garage soon. Excuse my crudeness but it has to be said: bigger chickens=bigger poop. And I'm not so sure I'm okay with that.

I can't wait for eggs though! Only 3 more months!
