This and That and This....by Jessica

My dad knows me well, look what was on the label of the bush beans that he got for my garden:

Early Maturing for my impatience and guaranteed to grow for my black thumb. Yes! Believe me, I'm going to need all the encouraging words I can get. I've received my gardening tutorial, decided on the plants...now I just need to level out my plot, wait for my fence to get fixed so boards don't keep falling on my head, and get the rest of my little plants purchased. Here's the list:

Tomatoes
Bush Beans
Peppers
Cucumbers (pickling ones for the little boy)
Squash
Zucchini (?? - we all remember last summer's saying, 'you know you don't have any friends if you're buying zucchini in the summer' - so, maybe I don't need a zucchini - Juli are you planting one?)
Strawberries
Melon of some sort

New Topic: Thank you to my crafty friend Jeni for enduring my stupid un-crafty knowledge questions and requests to borrow random things that I didn't even know existed.

It's helped the kids and I to keep ourselves busy with a little project (I'm not going to say much, as I know the recipient is a blog reader), and it's been keeping the evenings busy while Zack is away (still. yes, I know.) Here's a sneak peek:

I've been trying to let go of the reigns and let Ian do some things that I think he would think is fun, but I cringe to let him do as it is dangerous. Spray paint - go for it kid. He was also shocked when I asked him to go open the lid to the BBQ and flip the peppers.

He came back with singed arm hairs, but I tried to pretend that wasn't alarming. It was the first time he ate grilled peppers without gagging...so mission accomplished.
