Storage Wars...by Juli

The hubster and I have a small crush with the show Storage Wars. Anyone else crushing on them? I love the rivalry between Dave and Darrel and how Jared and Brandy are always trying to prove each other wrong and then there's Barry, I just love that clean freak gold digger. Anyways, I am always trying to find that hidden treasure among heaps of old underwear and 1990's VHS collections when I go thrifting. One of my favorite estate sale companies is Black Cat Estates and they scored a gold mine of a house in Santa Rosa. I went early Friday morning to get first dibs on the dead peoples loot {sorry, that was uncalled for} and found myself at the end of a huge line starting at the front door. If anyone knows me, patience and I aren't friends. I returned Saturday morning hoping there might be something left, and here's what I found:

They were labeled as "tie backs" meaning to hold back curtains but that didn't seem right to me. I scored them for about $20 for all six of them hoping I hit some rare item that will allow me to retire at the ripe age of 28 {oh crap, now you know how old I am} After googling 'glass top nails' and 'antique screws' I finally found them described as antique picture nails. {see ebay listing here} These victorian nails were meant to hang pictures from with a rope or wire. They go for $30-$40 each and are from the late 1800's!
I am so happy with my buy and I can't wait to use them! What should I do with them!?!?

I'm also gonna have to check out storage wars - never seen it. My neighbors recently had an estate sale because they were moving & I couldn't believe how EARLY so MANY people line up at the front door!! Lots of patience definitely needed - along with a portable chair & snacks I think ;)
