#23 Have a Camp Out...by Juli

What better way to describe our "camp out" than by sharing a little video?!? As you can tell we had a BLAST and hope to go back packing again, soon! We went to Twin Lakes in Desolation Wilderness that is part of the El Dorado National Forest. We fretted about bears but in the end we were all a little sad that we didn't even have a glimps of Mr. Yogi. Although we did have some frightfully cute chipmunks. We camped out for two nights and had enough food for five nights, oops. I also packed a few too many items of clothing. Will I ever learn?!? I am not sure a Troup girl could ever pack light, even if it means carrying it on your back. Despite the fact we had to get real with nature {aka, going, going in the woods} I really was surprised how much I liked it. It was so peaceful, quiet and calm. No one was texting me, I didn't know what all my friends ate for lunch via instagram, and there was no virtual shopping on pinterest. It was oddly wonderful. If you ever have the opportunity to go back packing I highly endorse it and we plan ourselves to work this into out yearly regime. There is a great sense of accomplishment when you know you can travel by the soles of your feet and survive with literally the clothes on your back. Nature here we come!!

Love it. I totally am in for next year's trip. I have to say that I'm a super light packer. I would rather wear a pair of dirty pants then lug around a heavy bag. It's true :)
