La cucaracha, La cucaracha....by Juli

You know her as the "New Dress A Day" girl. I know her as "totally awesome, I want your life." I mean come on, you get to be on Oprah and Nate Berkus because you cut, sew and totally re-design old lady dresses?!? Who needs a day job when you can get sponsered to do that? So I took my turn on the revamp ride and turned little miss "I will serve you a margarita con me sombrero" into "Si senor, I will stand here cute while you fan me" {ok, ok, I know I am in a silly mood today}

I took a $6.99 dress from the Goodwill {new one on 4th street!} shortened it and added some pleats in the back so my butt didn't look like it was having a rendezvous in a circus tent. I am so pleased with the way it came out that I wore it two days in a row {kind of a rarity for me} There were no tags in the dress and the intricut detail has me convinced that this vintage find was homemade or as fancy people say, custom designed. I love it!

Adios mi amigos!

I totally LOVE it. It takes a good eye to spot something you can change. I've been doing that with skirts recently. Now I wish I had paid more attention to my mom's sewing lessons! Great job!
